Stay (Arthur Pendragon X Reader)

You sighed and slipped out of bed, dressing quickly. You glanced over at Arthur, walking back over to him and running your fingers through his hair lightly. You pressed a quick kiss to his forehead, letting out a surprised squeak as his arms wrapped around your body, pulling you back onto his chest.

“Where are you going?” Arthur asked, his voice husky and garbled from sleep.

“I need to leave before one of your servants get here, don’t I? It wouldn’t look very good for the future king of Camelot to be seen in bed with his maid.” You said, trying, and failing, to mask the bitterness in your voice.

Arthur groaned, tucking his head and nuzzling it into your shoulder.

“__y/n__, no. You’re staying.” He said firmly, arms tightening around your body.

“Arthur, I have to go.” You protested, wiggling against his body, attempting to get free. Arthur growled, arms tightening even further around your body.

“It’s not even light out yet and Merlin won’t be around to wake me for a while, go back to sleep.”

“Please.” He added quietly, trailing kisses along your jaw.

You relented after a moment, rolling off of him and curling into his side.

“I hate you.” You said, sleep already tugging at the corners of your mind, body relaxing against his.

“I know.” He responded, chuckling lightly.

You buried your head in his chest, inhaling the musky scent of sweat and the previous night’s activities.

-Extended Ending Thing-

When Merlin entered Arthur’s chambers later that morning, he was unsurprised to see both you and him cuddled together under the blankets.

With a smile, and a soft chuckle, Merlin left the room, planning to tell the King that Arthur was sick to give you two some more time to yourselves.
