You didn’t say anything to the Doctor, merely walked over to him and buried your face in his chest, arms wrapping around his leather clad shoulders.
One of the Doctor’s arms wound around your body, holding you protectively to him while his other stroked your hair, running his fingers through the __h/c__ strands.
“Are you okay?” The Doctor asked gently, pulling your face out of his chest so he could look at you.
“I just…I just really needed a hug.” You mumbled softly, tearing your gaze away from his blue one and glancing awkwardly around the TARDIS.
The Doctor had taken you on as a companion almost a year ago, having saved you from some shop store mannequins who came to life. Life with the Doctor was certainly interesting, always full of adventure.
But, you didn’t have your friends anymore, who you were used to having around if you needed a hug, and you were just starting to feel lonely.
Travelling with the Doctor was great, without a doubt, but he wasn’t the most…caring person. No, that wasn’t the right word. He was caring, sometimes overly so, he just didn’t often express it, preferring to keep his emotions to himself.
The Doctor peered down at you, concern filling his light blue eyes. He brought a hand to your cheek, turning your face so that you were looking at him, and you couldn’t help the butterflies that erupted in your stomach or how you ached to throw your arms around his neck and nuzzle your head into his shoulder and just be close to him.
Some hint of what you were thinking must have flashed in your eyes because the Doctor smiled at you, that crooked, adorable, childlike grin that you loved to pieces, before he wrapped both of his arms around your waist, pulling you so that your body was flush against his.
Your arms immediately went to his neck, and you stood on your tiptoes, nestling your nose into the area where his neck met shoulder, just breathing in the scent of the Doctor. It was soothing, and you sighed contentedly into his neck, burrowing as close to him as you could get, arms tightening slightly around his neck.
It felt great just to hug him, you never really full on hugged people, and you felt like you could just stay there forever, you and your Doctor.
The Doctor’s grip on your waist loosened after a few more moments and he pulled away from you, eyes sparkling. Before you could even react, he had pecked your cheek and bounded back over to the TARDIS’ control panel, a smile etched onto his face.
“Thanks.” You said quietly, smiling up at him as you moved to stand beside him.
“Anything for my little human.” He said, fingers reaching out and finding yours, interlocking like two pieces of a puzzle.
The Doctor decided, as he pulled the lever and the TARDIS started whirring, that’d he have to make hugs a regular occurrence between you two.

Your Doctor (The 10th Doctor x Reader)
You were such a wonderful, amazing, spontaneous, surprising, and beautiful girl. Always ready for whatever came your way, whether it be for good or for ill.
The Doctor had never really come across a companion that already had such an extensive knowledge of human history, and had such a thirst to know more. You were smart, witty, clever, and inquisitive. Sure, every girl he ever took with him in the mystical TARDIS wanted to take his hand and jump into the stars, and so you did as well. But, you had always wanted to jot down where you were, when you were, and if there was ever a library, you always needed to see and learn from it.

"(Y/N)! It's time for you to go to sleep! You can't stay up any longer!" The Doctor said, standing in the doorway that leads to your bedroom. It was a simple bedroom, a bed, toys, stuff that a child needed. The Doctor had made it that way when he knew that you were going to be staying a bit longer than a few days.
The Doctor had found you on a dying planet, crying as you hide in a bush. After a few hours of him trying to talk to you and you staying quiet, you finally opened up t
